Underwater inspections have revealed that the wash-out of the seabed at Rykkjem is increasing. From Saturday 24th April, the ferry route will therefore use longer time on the crossing so that the ferries can use less motor power and lower speed when the ferry docks. This will reduce the impact on the sea filling until it has been fortified.
The consequence of a longer crossing time is that for a period, there will be fewer departures on the route. Møre and Romsdal county authority has already started work to improve the quay at Rykkjem. In addition, the first part of the fortification work at Kvanne quay starts in June. The period with a reduced number of departures will last through June.
The new timetable has been adjusted for the departure times for the buses that correspond with the route. Here you can find the timetable for Kvanne-Rykkjem that applies from 24th April.
Note! Some adjustments were made to the temporary timetable 23rd April to make it fit better with the shifts at Hydro at Sunndalsøra.
In July, the ferry will revert to the normal timetable. In August, the fortification of the seabed at Kvanne ferry quay will start. This work will make it necessary to close the route from 21.00 for three week. When this work has been completed, both quays will be significantly improved.
