Møre and Romsdal county authority adds some extra departures to the timetable for the Kvanne-Rykkjem ferry route. This happens after a dialog with Surnadal and Sunndal municipalities and Hydro. After a week's experience with 18 minutes crossing time, the crossing time will be adjusted with three minutes.
Shorter crossing time
The reason for increasing the crossing time to start with was that we needed to prevent wash-out of the seabed at Rykkjem ferry quay. In the worst case, this could mean that the ferry route would have to close for a longer period. Now we have learnt that the ferries can dock using less motor power even with a shorter crossing time, so naturally we implement this change, says team leader at FRAM, Olav Arne Vatne.
After dialog with the municipalities and Hydro we will add a total of six more departures. Two in the morning, two in the afternoon and two in the evening.
The new timetable apply from Wednesday 5th May.
The travel planner on frammr.no and in the FRAM app is updated and shows correct travel times. You can find the timetable in document format here.
